I'm about to head to bed and these were wonderful words to get right before hitting the pillow. Thank you. They meant a lot...by far one of the best things I've read all day. I appreciate your advice and your thoughtfulness Petra! Funny how you can know in your heart what the best thing to do is and you can tell yourself to be smart and that it is okay to take a break but when someone else tells you too, it really helps! xoAmanda@runninghoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16389034066639666578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34732546.post-80990632715563831632011-02-15T14:09:01.973+00:002011-02-15T14:09:01.973+00:00I've made peace with the treadmill this winter...I've made peace with the treadmill this winter and have come to love it

never thought I'd say thatTriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16665644808858115598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34732546.post-79318762864969494802011-02-13T00:07:23.659+00:002011-02-13T00:07:23.659+00:00I love EMZ's writing. I do what Emz suggested and always break my runs up into segments, which makes it seem much more do-able. I also usually run without music initially and then mix in some tv or music in the later miles.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34732546.post-55088598786290784292011-02-08T22:08:38.948+00:002011-02-08T22:08:38.948+00:00The mill is great for speedwork - quick turnover. ...The mill is great for speedwork - quick turnover. I got to love her(she is a girl, isn't she?). My first long run was a 13.1 miles, in a winter day, 10 days after my surgery. Knowing that a tough treatment was gonna be part of my life for 4 months, Hubby gave me one as a gift so I could step and run whenever I felt like it. I am really thankful of having the opportunity of running on her when the conditions don't allow otherwise....lizzie leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17461437927126657873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34732546.post-40144757144946474782011-02-06T04:14:46.856+00:002011-02-06T04:14:46.856+00:00You are just amazing(and EMZ as well)! Congrats!
I think those who run on the mill are bad-asses! For me, it is not boredom, it's that I feel restricted, that my stride gets too short. I go from the back to the front of the mill and have close calls with the ground. Still, I am going to have to go on the mill for a few runs next week, bc we have ice over ice on my regular paths and can't hit the pace I want over there.Running and livinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00057835870342142162noreply@blogger.com
